The Iowa Afterschool Alliance stays tuned into afterschool trends nationwide and develops materials to share these practices with the Iowa network. From advocacy guides, grant opportunities, templates, and more, the IAA provides a range of resources that programs and partners can access at any time through the website. An open-source curriculum designed to enhance career awareness and interest among students. This curriculum is suitable for both school and afterschool settings and offers authentic experiential learning opportunities for students to explore their diverse interests and talents. Furthermore, it enlivens STEM subjects and encourages students to consider their career options.
Maryland Out of School Time (MOST) embedded the Career Foundations Unit of Possible Futures into this toolkit that serves as a guide for OST providers.
Millions of urban children and teens lack access to afterschool programs that provide rich opportunities for growth, learning and fun. One possible solution is to coordinate the work of programs, government agencies, private funders and others involved in afterschool programs—that is, build an afterschool system that is greater than the sum of its parts. Key components of afterschool systems include efforts to improve program quality and collection of data to inform decision-making.
